About
Dr. Everett, founder of the Goals Achievement Institute
I am a physician
and psychiatrist based in North Andover MA. Long ago, I discovered many
of my patients were struggling as they attempted to reach their personal
goals. In in my opinion, their inability to identify and manage the
process of reaching their goals was not an indication of mental illness
or some personal peculiarity, but instead a misunderstanding of goal
definition and achievement strategies. All of this led to my founding
the Goals Achievement Institute.
My philosophy is
simple and straightforward:
-
Reason and
logic are powerful tools for solving problems and reaching your
goals.
-
Anyone who
acts to make the world a better place is a "good" person.
-
People who
base self-esteem on the effort to reach goals are happier than people
who focus on external markers of success or the opinions of others.
Much of my 45+
years in practice have been directed toward helping patients overcome
procrastination and shyness, solve problems and handle difficult people.
My work has
helped countless individuals clarify and reach defined objectives.
As a public speaker,
I have addressed numerous organizations on a variety of mental health
and personal development issues. When
not practicing medicine, I am an armchair astronomer, occasional skydiver
and the proud father of five grown children.
I am a graduate
of Harvard College and Johns Hopkins University Medical School. For
many years I was on the faculty of the Harvard Medical School.
